The Honor Choir is
a select group of approximately 50 third through fifth grade students. This group rehearses as a full ensemble on Thursdays
from 3:00 – 4:00 with sectionals before school one day a week for each
part. Altos rehearse Tuesdays from
7:20-7:45AM, and SOPRANOS and DESCANTS rehearse from 7:20-7:45AM on Wednesdays. Members of the Honor Choir will develop
their musical skills as they prepare quality works for school and public
performance representing a wide range of choral traditions. To further develop their music reading
abilities, this ensemble will regularly learn music from choral scores. These
scores may include singing in multiple parts, more complex rhythms, greater
expression, and foreign languages.
Those who are
willing to make a year-long commitment and think they have the musical and
personal qualities to be members of the Honor Choir, are encouraged to audition
in the fall of each year.
